Steelheader
Fisherman's Knife $39.95
Knives of Alaska announced
it's new fisherman's knife, the Steelheader. Made
from high quality 440C stainless steel, the attractive
matte-finished blade has been double tempered,
with a cryogenic "deep freeze" cycle,
to produce a RC blade hardness of 59-61. |
|
The strong full-tang
knife has a soft "Suregrip" handle
that is contoured for each finger, and the blade's
double choil insures a positive grip in wet,
slippery conditions. The blade is
6 inches long and has been designed to provide
just enough flexibility to make fish filleting
and cleaning easy and effective, yet still enough
stiffness to easily cut through rib bones without
abnormal flexing.
Designed by Professional
Alaskan Outfitter and Big-Game Guide Charles
Allen, the blade has been fully tested on silver
salmon and other fish in rugged Southeast Alaska's
coastal rivers. The knife now comes in a lined,
cordura nylon sheath.

Muskrat
$56.95
This
unusually shaped knife is unbelievably effective
for skinning and fleshing. The razor sharp edge
extends completely along the rounded tip and
top side for 1". This allows the user to skin
very quickly with the knife by cutting in both
directions with a quick flick of the wrist.
The rounded point is also much less likely to
accidentally cut through the skin of a valuable
cape than is a very sharp pointed blade. This
is especially important for a professional outfitter,
a guide, or a hunter who wants to keep the skin
or cape for tanning or mounting. The 1/8"
thick blade is D-2 tool steel and holds an incredible
edge. Total length of the full-tang knife is
6-1/2". Each knife comes with an oiled
leather sheath and has a black rubberized "Suregrip"
handle.

Item #113
Knives of Alaska Jaeger Boning Knife $94.95
This
is possibly the most beautiful and sleekest
knife Knives of Alaska has ever made. Made
as a premier boning and capping knife, the
Jaeger is 8-1/4" overall and has a 3-1/2"
cutting edge. Just shy of 1/8" thick (.118"),
the blade steel is highly prized ATS-34, a
premium grade stainless steel. The blades,
treated with cryogenic (deep freeze) and double-tempering
process and at a Rockwell of 58-60, will hold
an incredible edge. The non-slip ridges on
the back of the blade will give you comfortable
platform on which to place either your forefinger
or thumb while using the knife.
Also,
the individual finger grooves and deep front
coil provide a comfortable and positive grip.
The blade is full-tang and double-riveted,
with a brass lanyard sleeve so the handle
scales are securely fastened to the blade.
This
is a knife that is lightweight and easy to
carry but incredibly versatile and strong.
The Jaeger is large enough to butcher a moose
in the Alaskan brush, yet small enough to
comfortably field-dress small game and fillet
fish. This is a great looking knife with black
rubberized "Suregrip" handles. The sheath
is made from genuine 100% American split grain
cowhide, vegetable tanned then oiled (so your
high quality knives won't rust in the sheath!).
We designed the sheath to hang at about 45
degrees off your belt. This eliminates the
problem of the sheath point poking into the
seat or ground, or the handle jabbing you
in the ribs while you are seated.
